Scorchers exact revenge on Heat

The Perth Scorchers have silenced the Gabba crowd with revenge over the Brisbane Heat by 27-runs.

Perth batted first and posted 5/156 with skipper Michael Klinger top scoring hitting 81 from 54 balls.

Former Australian quick Mitchell Johnson started the rout securing the first two wickets of the innings.

AJ Tye claimed a disjointed hat-trick claiming a wicket off the last ball of one over and two wickets on the first two balls of his next.

The Heat were bowled out for 129 in the 19th over and in a team bowling performance new import Tim Bresnan and young tyro Jhye Richardson also claimed two wickets each.

Perth have rocketed to the top of the Big Bash League ladder and will face the Melbourne Stars on Saturday at the WACA.
