Reading IS Exhausting

"Wow, I never thought I would say this, but reading books can be exhausting," I said to my wife on Sunday.

My family and I spent the weekend having a reading marathon, I managed to get through 10 more books on my reading list for the year, (Note: I started reading on Friday afternoon, and finally put my last book down at midnight Sunday night, so yes, it was a heck of a long time reading)

Seriously though, when did you last sit down, for an entire day and just read to improve your mind?
Not reading the latest pop culture book, but to read something that will improve the way that you do business?

We put on the radio, sat back, and just read, read, read!

I have to say that by Sunday afternoon I was jazzed and ready to head into work, to hit the ground running and try out some new idea's.

I just love that when an author can get you so excited about a particular subject that it has a flow on effect to the rest of your life. Books can illuminate an area of your business that you may not have even known was a problem, offer solutions that you may never have even thought of - and most importantly - books share knowledge from every part of the world. Knowledge gives you the power to decide what is best for you.

Groucho Marx said it best when he said "Outside a book, a dog is a man's best friend - inside a dog it's too dark to read."

Remember too: if you don't have access to your own personal collection of books - check out your public library. It costs nothing to join, and the amount of books they have access too is AMAZING!

So I issue a challenge, find something to read, make some time, and read it! Broaden your mind, your horizons, and grow your business!
