Perth girl Katherine Langford shares exciting news with fans
The Netflix TV drama series, 13 Reasons Why is back for a second season.
Katherine Langford posted the news to her social media yesterday confirming the news with fans.
The 21-year old Perth actress has shot to fame with her role as troubled teen Hannah Baker, who takes her life in the first season, leaving behind cassettes with 13 reasons why she did it.
The series has created quite a lot of controversy and executive producer, Selena Gomez said that was the main reason she wanted to get on board with this project... to start conversations. People need to talk about those serious issues such as bullying, mental health and suicide.
Australian youth mental health organisation Headspace said it has received a growing number of calls and emails from parents and youths worried about certain scenes.
So what will Season 2 be about?
Langford spoke to E!News about her theories.
"Personally, I would be interested to see…more discussion into what's happening afterwards. It's interesting in the first season we get to see what the characters go through post-Hannah's death."
With season one being centered around Jay Asher's novel, there is no more source material, so the plot line could go in any direction.
We do know that the teaser focuses on Liberty High, The Crestmont, Baker's Drug Store, Bryce's house and Monet's Restaurant... all significant places from season one.
Season 2 is set to stream on Netflix in 2018.
