Contagion stars Matt Damon, Kate Winslet and Laurence Fishburne talk COVID-19

Stars use their star-power to share important information.

With the rising of the coronavirus/COVID-19 around the globe, Steven Soderbergh's Contagion is back in the top 10 most downloaded and watched movies on streaming.

Some of the cast of the 2011 movie Contagion have been asked to speak in a series of COVID-19 public service announcements for Columbia Public Health.

Matt Damon who plays Mitch Emhoff and was the husband of patient zero (Gwyneth Paltrow) was immune to catching the virus in the movie, but here he is speaking about how we can help control the contagion.

Now Kate Winslet's character (Dr Erin Mears) in Contagion wasn't immune like Matt's character.

Unfortunately for the epidemiologist (disease expert), she caught the virus and ended up dying... alone in a warehouse that she set up to help patients who had been affected.

Brutal... so listen to her advice on WASHING your hands!!

Laurence Fishburne played Dr Ellis Cheeva and was the head of disease control.

So here is Morpheus, err... I mean Laurence, talking about social distancing and the virus being a potential 'weapon.'

Marion Cotillard's character played Dr Leonora Orantes who worked for the World Health Organisation and was sent to Hong Kong to deal with the hypothetical virus.

Marion talks about how we can stay home and do our part to help the world.

And of course, the saviour of the show was Dr Elly Hextall played by Jennifer Ehle who created a vaccine to help fight the virus in Contagion. Here's Jennifer speaking about potential vaccines and what we can do to help.
