Warning: Season 7 Finale Spoilers
Ok. So by now all the Game of Thrones mega-fans have seen the scene in the Season 7 finale where Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen get it on.
Usually, we'd be high fiving each other over this anticipated relationship finally hooking up, except for the fact that the Mother of Dragons is also HIS AUNT.
Yep. Her eldest brother, Rhaegar Targaryen (who was killed by Robert Baratheon in the rebellion when he took the iron throne), is actually Jon Snow's father.
Rhaegar married Lyanna Stark in a secret ceremony (yep, Ned Stark's sister), who later died in childbirth. BUT, not before she told Ned his real name, Aegon Targaryen, and asked him to swear secrecy and keep his lineage a secret.
Hence, Jon Snow, the bastard of Winterfell was 'born'.
Ok, back to the union of Ice and Fire... So how will Jon and Dany respond when they find out they're closely related?
I mean, it's not like the Seven Kingdoms aren't used to a bit of incest - Cersei and Jaime anyone - and it's even more rife in the Targaryen lineage.
We're more worried about Jon Snow's honour and his need to do the right thing in all things. Although, this consummation will most probably result in a little Jon Snow (or is it Aegon Targaryen?) and then his sense of duty will be to his unborn child. What a dilemma!!
The actors, Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke revealed how they feel about the whole situation in behind the scenes footage from HBO.
"For us, as actors, it's just weird," Clarke shared. "The reality of what they are to each other, I don't know how that's going to... I think [gags] might be the reaction."
"I think they both know it's wrong. I think they both know it's going to cause problems," Harington added. "But it's that thing, when you suddenly feel that deeply about someone and you go through those events together, it's like a runaway train. You can't stop it from happening."
And we can't look away.
