Big congratulations to the 13 Reasons Why star.
This morning, Katherine Langford woke to the glorious news that she had been nominated for a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Hannah Baker in the Netlifx series 13 Reasons Why.
Ms. Langford auditioned via Skype from WA for the Netflix Original series in 2016 and was quickly snapped up for the lead role of Hannah Baker, a troubled teen who takes her own life, leaving behind a box of cassette tapes detailing thirteen reasons why she ended her life.
In an instant, Langford's whole world changed as she went from an actor trying to make it in the Aussie movie industry, to instant Hollywood stardom.
And it seems to be working beautifully - her nomination for best Actress in a Television Series, Drama category sees her up against some major talent including Elisabeth Moss for the Handmaid's Tale, The Deuce's Maggie Gyllenhall, The Crown's Claire Foy and Outlander's Catriona Balfe.
The 21- year old Aussie star thanked the HFPA for the nomination on her Insta Stories.
"Thank you so much to the HFPA! So excited to be nominated alongside this illustrious group of women."
13 Reasons Why producer, Selena Gomez was one of the many celebrities who congratulated Langford for her success on social media.

Meanwhile, Langford is set to return for the 13 Reasons Why sequel in 2018 and also starring in her first big movie, Love, Simon which hits cinemas in March next year.
