Sex and the City's Willie Garson has passed away aged 57

"We are bereft without him."

Sex and the City fans are mourning the death of Willie Garson, who portrayed the delightful Stanford Blatch - the gay bestie of Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw - in the hit HBO series.

Garson passed away on Tuesday aged 57, with sources saying he had been battling pancreatic cancer.

He was recently spotted filming scenes for HBO’s upcoming Sex and the City spinoff And Just Like That and was excited to be a part of the new series.

His son, Nathen Garson, payed tribute to his Papa on Instagram, saying, “I’m so glad you got to share all your adventures with me. I will always love you, but I think it’s time for you to go on an adventure of your own!”

SATC co-stars Kristen Davis and Cynthia Nixon also posted tributes to their dear friend.

We will miss you Stanny.
