The Big Bang Theory to go out with a big bang

Warner execs have announced the 12-season run will come to an end in 2019

Cult TV series, The Big Bang Theory will go out with a bang in 2019 after a 12-season run on CBS. Warner Brothers announced the show, which racked up 52 emmy nominations and 10 wins, will end next year.

"We, along with the cast, writers and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and series finale, that will bring #TheBigBangTheory to an epic creative close.” -Warner Bros. Television, CBS and Chuck Lorre Productions.

The season will premiere next month, while the finale, episode 279, will air early next year.

Are we ready to say goodbye to Leonard, Penny, Wolowitz, Koothrappali, Bernadette, Amy and our favourite super-nerd Sheldon?!

Gulp. Possibly not. But it's happening anyway.

Check out the cast's post from their first day on set filming season 12.
