Australian Ash Barty is a grand slam champion defeating Marketa Vondrousova in straight sets to win the French Open.
Barty wrapped up the victory 6-1, 6-3 in just 70-minutes in one of the more one-sided women's finals.
The 23-year-old end's Australia's 46-year French Open title wait in her maiden grand slam title.
Barty will now become number two in the world and is the best-ranked Australian woman since Evonne Goolagong Cawley in 1976.
“It’s unbelievable, I’m a little bit speechless. I played the perfect match today. I’m so proud of myself and my team, it’s been an incredible two weeks,” Barty said.
“It’s a special place for Australians here. Sam (Stosur) has done well here before and come so close. It’s been a magical two weeks.”
