Cummins rips through Sri Lanka

Australia are back on the winners list after a comprehensive innings and 40-run win over the Sri Lanka in Brisbane.

Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head shared an 166-run partnership in Australia's first innings to help the total to 323 after the home side fell to 4/82. 

A rampaging Pat Cummins claimed man of the match honours securing 10-wickets for the match including 6/23 in the second innings as the Sri Lankans folded for 139 after 144 in the first. 

The game finished inside the second session on the third day giving the home side much needed confidence after losing the Test series against India.

Jhye Richardson finished with five-wickets on debut while Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc ended the game with two wickets each for the game. 

The second and final match of the series will be played in Canberra.
