Dees to face Eagles again

Melbourne will take on West Coast in next Saturday's preliminary final in Perth after a 33-point win over Hawthorn.

It's another step forward for Melbourne to reach an unlikely grand final birth but the Demons continue to charge recording a 16.8.104 to 10.11.71 win.

Tom McDonald led the way booting four goals in front of over 90,000 people at the MCG.

Leading by 13-points at the main break the game blew open in the third term as the Demons piled on six goals to three.

Melbourne moved the ball quickly in patches leaving the Hawks defence exposed and free men loose across the ground.

Hawthorn have now lost their last four finals despite playing all those games at the MCG.

Eagles coach Adam Simpson watched on from the stands to take a look at his sides opponents in person.
