Four goals from Brennan Cox has powered the Dockers to a nail-biting three-point win over Adelaide.
Fremantle missing Nat Fyfe and Aaron Sandilands plus others held on to record the 10.11.71 to 9.14.68.
Michael Walters will be in trouble for his tummy punch on Jake Lever and has been reported for headbutting Tom Doedee.
Adam Cerra could well be named as this round's AFL rising star nominee collecting 30-disposals and recording eight inside-50's.
Coach Ross Lyon said all of Cerra's qualities came through.
"Cerra, we played him forward and he impacted, then midfield he was getting a run, but we just know his quality and how he reads the game and how he uses it and how he competes." Lyon said.
"We just thought, at his height, half-back is a good spot to play at AFL football if there's pressure up the field and so that pressure was there today and we saw all his qualities come through."
The Dockers next take on Carlton on Saturday at Etihad Stadium.
