Dockers struggle to overhaul Crows

The Dockers have fallen short in a low scoring arm wrestle against the Crows by 17-points.

Fremantle got back within one straight kick during the final quarter after trailing at three-quarter-time by 19-points.

A late Eddie Betts goal sealed the deal for the home side recording a 7.9.51 to 5.4.34 victory.

Darcy Tucker booted two goals for the Dockers in a losing side.

Coach Ross Lyon didn't believe the game would be played out the way he did when he arrived out the venue.

"I don’t think anyone planned for it to come out that way." Lyon said.

"Both teams had entries, we had 50 entries and they had 50, so it wasn’t like teams weren’t going in. From our end, and they’d probably say the same, I think, but more focused on us and connection we had some opportunities that we would like to have taken a bit better but we need to learn from them."

The Dockers host the Tigers next on Sunday at Optus Stadium.
