Eagles hold firm against Saints

The Eagles have held off a fast finishing Saints outfit to claim a 18-point win at Marvel Stadium.

West Coast kicked 1.8 in the final term in a major missed opportunity to put the Saints to the sword and claim much needed percentage.

Josh Kennedy, Jack Petrucelle, Oscar Allen and Jamie Cripps kicked two goals each in the 12.16.88 to 10.10.70 triumph.

Coach Adam Simpson thought his sides supply and the contest was good.

"I thought we were pretty calm in the box today. I thought we rectified some things we have been poor at in previous weeks. I'm really proud of our players. Winning is hard." Simpson said.

Several Eagles players were caught in their hotel lift hours before the game started.

"I didn't know until I got to the ground. They are pretty resilient our boys. They got through."
