The Rockingham Flames have triumphed in the inaugural Wave Cup defeating the Cougars 86-72.
It was a back and forth clash for the opening match up of the season the Cougars out of the blocks were before the Flames pegged it back at half time 37-35.
Scoring opened up in the third quarter as the Flames took control of the game to open up a five-point lead at the final break.
The Flames took their opportunities more frequently in the last to run away winners.
Ryan Godfrey top scored for the Flames with 23-points, while Travis Durndin contributed with 18-points.
Earlier in the night, it was the Cougars women who opened their account recording a 85-78 win over the Flames.
