Israel Folau will seek $10-million in damages from Rugby Australia after lodging a case with the Fair Work Commission.
Folau was sacked by RA over a social media post condemning homosexuals to Hell, maintaining the case was a matter of employment law and not freedom of religion.
This case could well soak up the next 12-months and potentially overshadow Australia's world cup campaign.
According to documents lodged Folau believes his termination was unlawful and will miss out on $5-million of income if the case is heard in the federal court.
RA believes that the termination was about an employee failing to honour the contract that they signed.
