Perth Glory have suffered a dagger to the heart losing their A-League grand final against Sydney FC 4-1 on penalties.
The two sides couldn't be spilt after 120-minutes and that sent the game into a sudden death penalty shootout.
Sydney FC keeper Andrew Redmayne produced four quality saves including two in the one-sided penalty shootout to help Sydney to triumph.
Glory skipper Andy Keogh and the retiring Brendan Santalab were denied by Redmaynes' brilliance.
A crowd of 56,371 created history when it smashed the previous best for a A-League grand final of 55,346 back in 2007.
