The Dockers have completed their pre-season with a thumping 62-point with over West Coast.
Hayden Ballantyne found some form booting three goals in the 14.17.101 to 5.9.39 victory while Lachie Neale was the best player on the ground kicking three goals and racking up 36 disposals.
Coach Ross Lyon said it was a step in the right direction.
"We want to be a better contested ball team and pressure team than we've been the last couple of years, so it was a step in the right direction," Lyon said.
"We haven't been a team that's been able to get entries (inside 50) – so we really came here to improve on that today, and I think really it was pleasing that we did that."
The Eagles had just five individual goal scorers and racked up numerous clangers from the game.
Coach Adam Simpson said his team were well off in a number of areas.
"The eight or nine guys we didn't play last week just seemed a step-off today. Simpson said.
"We've got a young team and we need those older guys to hold up their end as well, but we'll back them in.
"Freo were very good today in everything they did. All facets we got done with."
