Australian captain Tim Paine said they need to re-group and hit back hard next week in Sydney.
"We know we can match it with these guys," Paine said.
"It's been a difficult year, I think the silver lining is over the next few months we've got some world-class players becoming available.
"We've also been able to get some time and games into some young batters. Over the next few years we'll be able to see what's happened."
Queenslander Marnus Labuschagne has been called into the squad for the final Test with speculation Mitchell Marsh will be dropped.
