Cricket Australia have vowed to investigate all claims of racial abuse levelled at Indian players during the SCG Test.
Play stopped for eight minutes on Sunday and at least seven fans were ejected from the ground after fast bowler Mohammed Siraj complained about the crowd misbehaviour.
Post play Indian spinner Ravi Ashwin said it wasn't the first time he had been subjected to racial slurs from Sydney crowds.
"This is my fourth tour of Australia and in Sydney we have had a few experiences even in the past," Ashwin said.
"The way the crowd have been speaking ... they have been quite nasty and hurling abuse as well.
"There is a time where they have gone one step ahead and used racial abuses."
NSW Police are conducting their own investigation into the incident.
