West Coast and Sam Mitchell have been forced to refute claims he spat at or near Port Adelaide's Sam Gray.
The Eagles released a statement on Sunday night.
"Both the club and Sam strongly refute any such suggestion or allegation." the statement said.
"The club will make no further comment on this issue at this point in time."
Meanwhile, the AFL has ticked off the crucial free kick awarded to Luke Shuey late in Saturday's elimination final.
The AFL insisted that vision of the incident should be looked at in real time and not in a slow motion replay.
Umpire Chris Donlon awarded the kick to Shuey who converted after the siren to win the match.
Meanwhile Shuey admitted on Sunday he chuckled to himself before he kicked the ball.
"I had a think about the whole situation to be honest, going to overtime and having to kick after the siren – I couldn't help but laugh and have a little smile about the situation," Shuey said.
"I guess I was trying to relax myself a little bit."
