The Mandurah Magic women have secured fourth spot on the NBL1 West ladder after a low-scoring game against the Goldfields Giants at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre on Saturday.

Just nine points were scored in the first quarter before things picked up slightly in the second.

Mandurah then broke away in the final term, eventually winning 48 to 35.

Coach Vlad Alava said it was a little painful to watch but a win is a win.

"Full credit to the Goldfields Giants, they needed to win and they made us work for everything," he said.

"Aim of the game is to win and we did that."

It was the Magic's sixth straight victory.

The Mandurah men lost by eight points to the Giants dropping them down to seventh on the ladder.

In other games, the Rockingham Flames men secured their fifth straight win on Saturday night, beating the Willetton Tigers 88 to 76.

Despite the absence of stars Greg Hire and Marshall Nelson, the Flames still managed to get the job done with the help of import Devondrick Walker who top scored with 28 points.

The win sees them maintain second position on the ladder.

Meantime, the Flames women suffered their sixth loss in a row, going down by three points to the Tigers.
