Scorchers batting fails again

The Perth Scorchers are set to claim the Big Bash wooden spoon following a six-wicket loss to the Brisbane Heat.

Perth batted first and could only manage 9/128 with youngster Nick Hobson top scoring hitting 43 from 35 balls reaching the boundary three times for two fours and one six.

The chase was always in hand for the Heat securing the total in the 18th over and 15-balls to spare.

Matt Kelly bowled two brilliant yorkers to claim wickets with both deliveries but it was to no avail.

Skipper Mitch Marsh said they had a chance to bounce back at home on Sunday.

“We have still got a lot of pride to play for and we want all our fans to come down to the Stadium on Sunday night for our final home game.” Marsh said.

Perth are back at home taking on the Melbourne Stars.

Shaun Marsh didn't take the field after feeling tight in the hamstring after batting and will be assessed ahead of the match.
