Scorchers outshine Stars

The Perth Scorchers have sent stalwart Michael Klinger off in-style defeating the Melbourne Stars by 27-runs.

Perth posted 3-182, Ashton Turner smashing 69 from 42 balls including seven fours and three sixes.

Cam Bancroft contributed with 44 not out from just 27 deliveries.

Nathan Coulter-Nile claimed two early wickets with the ball to give the Scorchers the upper hand before a 106-run partnership between Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell tipped the game in the visitors favour.

Maxwell and Stoinis fell in within four balls during the 15th and 16th overs to dash all hope.

The Scorchers went onto restrict the Stars to 9/155.

Coulter-Nile and Matt Kelly finished with three wickets while AJ Tye claimed two scalps.

Perth have one game remaining against the Strikers in Adelaide on Sunday.
