Thunder fail to overhaul Tigers

Peel Thunder will hold onto their place inside the top five despite a 19-point loss to Claremont.

Peel will be fifth at the end of the round a win ahead of West Perth, West Coast and East Perth who are breathing down their necks.

The Tigers slammed on six goals to two in the opening quarter to catch the Thunder napping in the 12.8.80 to 9.7.61 victory.

Peel struggled to make up the ground conceded despite outscoring the home side in the last quarter.

Blair Bell and Ryan Bennell booted two goals each while Tom North and Stefan Giro collected 22-possessions each.

Peel are on the road again next week taking on West Perth at Joondalup.
