Thunder to compete in WAFLW

Peel Thunder will compete in the inaugural West Australian Football League Women's competition.

Five teams will compete including Peel, Subiaco, Swan Districts, East Fremantle and Claremont while South Fremantle have been handed a provisional license for 2020.

The competition will begin in the first weekend in May and the grand final will be played alongside the men's preliminary final weekend.

In an exciting announcement the grand final will be broadcast on the Seven Network with plans advanced to live stream one game per weekend on the WAFL website.

The WAFLW takes over from the league competition of the WAWFL which will still serve a purpose with reserves and also Rogers Cup (u'18's).

Teams who weren't handed a license into this years WAFLW will played in the WAWFL reserves competition.
