Detectives swoop on Baldivis, Waikiki grow houses, over 750 cannabis plants seized

Detectives have seized over 750 cannabis plants after swooping on a number of alleged grow houses in Baldivis and Waikiki.

Police have revealed six rooms of a home in Waikiki had allegedly been converted to grow cannabis hydroponically when they searched the property on Thursday, May 2.

Officers seized 345 plants of varied grow and arrested two men aged 28 and 36.

Both men were charged with cultivating a prohibited plant with intent to sell or supply and will face the Rockingham Magistrates Court on May 24.

The following day, three further search warrants were executed at homes in Baldivis and Waikiki.

Officers allegedly found 71 cannabis plants and 12kg of dried cannabis at a home in Baldivis.

A 51-year-old man was arrested and charged.

He is due to appear in the Rockingham Magistrates Court on May 25.

"During the search of a second property in Baldivis, officers identified 13 rooms that were being used to grow cannabis via a sophisticated hydroponic set up," a WA Police spokesperson said.

"In total 341 plants and approximately 20-25 half kilo cryovac bags of Cannabis head were seized."

Inquiries remain ongoing.
