At Rockingham District Historical Society's March General Meeting Speaker is Ron Banks, former arts editor of The West Australian newspaper. He will be talking to us on his recently published a history of theatre in WA called ‘Bums on Seats: An unofficial history of theatre in WA’. Ron has been a keen reviewer of theatre during his time as arts editor and drew on his experience to chart the development of theatre companies from the building of the Playhouse Theatre in 1956 to the establishment of the State Theatre in the 21st century. With the contribution of many in the acting fraternity in his book, we are sure that there will be many entertaining stories. Ron will have copies of his book at the meeting for you to purchase.
The meeting and speaker is followed by Afternoon Tea and Public is welcome to come along and enjoy listening to Ron Banks.
