Hosted by Nikki Glaser.
The 83rd Golden Globe Awards were on yesterday in Los Angeles, with comedian Nikki Glaser once again hosting – and she didn’t spare any punches with her opening monologue roast – with one spicy barb aimed right at Leonardo DiCaprio (4:40 in).
Hamnet took out Best Picture for a Drama, and One Battle After Another won Best Picture for a Comedy or Musical.
One Battle After Another also won the award for Best Director, and Best Screenplay, with Teyana Taylor taking out Best Supporting Actress... but Leo didn’t get the award for Best Actor – that went to Timothee Chalamet… for his role in Marty Supreme.
Aussie's own Rose Byrne took out her first Golden Globe for Best Actress in the category for Comedy or Musical with ‘If I had Legs I’d Kick You’
In TV... The Studio, a send-up of Hollywood, was named best TV series (musical or comedy) with Seth Rogen also taking out Best Actor.
“The Pitt,” which takes place in an over-stretched hospital, won best TV series (Drama) with Noah Wyle winning Best Actor.
Best limited or anthology series went to “Adolescence,” the story of a murder investigation that unfolds in one, continuous shot.
And Dame Helen Mirren was honoured with the Cecil B. DeMille award, praising her for excellence in Film and Television.
