The Member for Baldivis Reece Whitby is asking motorists to take extra care on Mundijong Road at St Albans Road while calling for improved safety following another serious crash at the intersection.
The Baldivis MP raised concerns about the intersection with both the Ministers for Police and Transport after six people were injured in a two car crash yesterday morning.
"I know this intersection, just outside the electorate border, is used daily by many local residents and there have been concerns about safety in the past.
"Another serious accident happened at the same intersection just three weeks ago."
Reece Whitby is now asking the government to look into extra signage to make the road safer.
"It's a definite concern for local people and I think as Baldivis, Wellard and Betram continue to grow in population, more and more people are using this road to go east and avoid the freeway.
"These roads were constructed many years ago when the area was a small rural community.
"I've asked for extra police presence and possibly whether there needs to be any engineering or extra signage to make it safer.
"But in the meantime, I'm asking all motorists who use that part of Baldivis to please show caution, obey the speed limit and use the stop signs.
"The speed limit reduces from 100km to 80km just east of St Albans Road for people travelling in a westerly direction."
