A woman, her father and her young son were shocked to find a needle in a pair of pants they'd just purchased from an Op Shop.
Ash Clarke and her family were left shocked after discovering a needle in a pair of pants they had purchased from a Mandurah second hand store.
The Mandurah mother took her dad, who was visiting from Geraldton, and one-year-old son to the Salvos store on George Street on Tuesday to purchase track pants for her father.
Ms Clarke said when her family arrived home she put her son down for a nap when she heard her father yell out to her.
"When I came out [from putting her son down] he said 'have a look at this," she said.
Her father produced a needle from the pocket of the pants he had just purchased.
Ms Clarke said she and her father were both left shocked by the discovery, but relieved the needle had the cap on and did not prick her father.
"He was shake up but said 'I'm happy I found it and not my grandson," Ms Clarke said her father was thankful his young grandson didn't come into contact with the needle.
The Mandurah resident said she attempted to call the store but was unable to talk to someone so she proceeded to put a complaint up in a community Facebook group.
Ms Clarke said she has since spoken to the store and was told the manager had gone home for the day but was concerned after hearing her story and would try to resolve the issue tomorrow.
Clothing sold at second hand stores usually goes through a cleaning process and items are checked over by volunteers and staff at retail stores.
