Academy Award winning actor Richard Dreyfuss who starred in movie blockbusters like Jaws, Stand By Me, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, American Grafitti and Mr. Holland's Opus will visit Mandurah for an exclusive show.
The Hollywood star has agreed to appear at the Mandurah Convention Centre thanks to a phone call from a couple of Halls Head locals.
Events Manager Jon Ring said the challenge was put to him to get a big Hollywood name to visit.
"When Richard asked where I was calling from, I told him I was sitting on a boat in Mandurah marina."
Mr Ring then invited the American actor to Australia and after a 20 minute conversation a meeting was set up with his agent.
"It was so nice to talk to him.
"When I rang the actor's agent she said you're supposed to ring the agent first and that no one has ever gone to Richard directly."
Events Coordinator Kevin Hodge said a Close Encounter with the Man from Jaws is going to be a great dinner show with Richard Dreyfuss to perform in Perth the following night.
"This is great for Mandurah.
"Working in real estate, bringing Richard here and showing him and his wife around, you never know, maybe Richard Dreyfuss will buy a house in Mandurah."
Australian actors Jackie Weaver, Bryan Brown and Rachel Ward have been invited to the red carpet event on June 29, 2018 which will be televised.
