The man has been charged by police for crimes he allegedly committed in the 1980s.
Narrogin Detectives have charged an 86-year-old man following an investigation into historic child sexual abuse allegations that stemmed from the Royal Commission into Institutional Response to Child Sex Abuse.
It will be alleged when the man was working as a Welfare Officer between 1984 and 1985 he sexually assaulted a then 13-year-old boy while he was assigned to be his Officer by the Department of Communities.
The man from Gooseberry Hill has been charged with five counts of Indecent Dealing with a Child under 14 years of age.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today.
