Workers in Greenfields have made a citizens arrest after a dramatic car chase involving a stolen car.
Officers from the Regional Investigations Unit observed a stolen black Hyundai Elantra on Gordon Road in Greenfields at about 9am on Thursday.
The vehicle was stolen from Kelmscott on August 12.
Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle but it sped away.
An evade police incident commenced and continued for around 15 minutes.
As the vehicle approached stationary traffic at roadworks on Murdoch Drive, it crashed into four other vehicles, causing significant damage to two of them.
Members of the public in those vehicles escaped injury.
Police said two males in the stolen vehicle fled the scene.
The passenger was apprehended by nearby workers and subsequently by police.
The driver of the vehicle, a 30 year old man from Orelia, fled and was located by police in a nearby house.
He suffered a leg injury as a result of being apprehended by a police dog and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The passenger, a 44 year old man of Gosnells, will be charged with steal motor vehicle and possession of stolen property.
The driver is yet to be charged, pending medical treatment.
