The McGowan Government is reportedly keen to re-examine WA's one-punch penalties after a controversial decision saw a man handed a 12 month suspended sentence for two assaults.
According to The Sunday Times Dylan Thomas avoided jail for the attacks in Claremont earlier this year.
Police Minister Michelle Roberts has asked WA Police to consider appealing his sentence.
CCTV footage played in court shows Thomas approaching 17-year-old Sam Oritz and punching him in the head without warning or provocation.
The court was also told another man was punched and fell to the ground with a black eye.
Anyone who sees violent or anti-social behaviour is urged to call police on 131 444.
