The 45-year-old has been charged and will front a Perth court today.
Police have charged a man after he allegedly refused to drop a knife he was carrying while at the Rockingham Shopping Centre yesterday morning.
The 45-year-old was seen walking in the centre just after 10am, one woman has told CNG the man almost hit her three-year-old son with the kitchen knife.
Witnesses said a security guard attempted to get the man to release the knife and leave the centre, but as he refused Police were called.
Authorities arrived a short time later and after the man again refused to drop the knife, they deployed their tasers.
The Rockingham man was taken to Perth Watch House and charged with failing to comply with a request to give police personal details and being armed in a way to cause fear.
He'll appear in Perth Magistrates Court today.
