A local dog has been videoed swimming with dolphins in the Mandurah canals.
A video of the unlikely friendship went viral after Braandi's owners posted it to Facebook.
Lee Grainger said her nine-year-old cavoodle loves to interact with the dolphins when they take her out on the boat.
“She’s very excited and just absolutely loves them,” she told Today Tonight.
“The first time we were a little bit sceptical, a little bit nervous because (the dolphins) were coming very close and swimming around her.
“(Now) she’s done it many, many times and you can see that the dolphins aren’t going to hurt her.”
Murdoch University researcher Krista Nicholson said it is not surprising to see the two animals interacting.
“It seems to be sort of both approaching each other, so not one-sided, but the interest is definitely mutual," she told Today Tonight.
