Police have charged a man after he allegedly stabbed a dog to death at a park north of Perth.
A 22-year-old woman was exercising her four-year-old Golden Labrador 'Luna' off the lead at the park on Apple Blossom Drive in Mirrabooka around 6pm on Wednesday when the man allegedly approached the dog and stabbed it causing it to collapse.
Luna was taken to a nearby vet, but could not be saved.
A 37-year-old man from Mirrabooka has been charged with cruelty to an animal.
He has been bailed to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on June 15.
