A man who allegedly committed several burglaries across Perth ran head-first into a window trying to escape from police.
Police attended an apartment in West Perth on an unrelated matter on Sunday when the 39-year-old man allegedly ran into the window and damaged a glass door.
He then allegedly ran down Newcastle Street, jumped a fence then ran into the Graham Farmer tunnel, where several cars had to swerve to avoid him.
The man allegedly tried to get into a car but was dragged along the road before he was arrested by police.
He was taken to hospital for an assessment.
Shortly after, police searched the apartment on Harwood Lane and located over 100 items including two antique pistols, jewellery and electrical items believed to have been stolen.
Housebreaking items and clothing was also located during the search.
The 39-year-old man from Tuart Hill has been charged with a string of offences including six counts of burglary, walking on a freeway, breach of bail and obstructing police officers.
He is due to appear in court at a later date.
A 20-year-old woman of Thornlie is due to appear in court at a later date in relation to drug related offence.
