The woman who was carjacked on Mandurah Terrace on Monday night is North Ward councillor Caroline Knight.
The Mandurah councillor was allegedly forced to drive two men around while they stole before being dumped at Silver Sands Beach carpark,
Ms Knight had told Fairfax Media the incident was horrific and traumatic, and she hasn't been able to drive since.
The ordeal started just after 6:30pm on Mandurah Terrace where she just left work at the City of Mandurah offices and got into her car.
Two men allegedly threatened to injure her if she didn’t drive them.
Police said whilst being driven, the men rummaged through the victims belongings and made her stop at an address on Ormsby Terrace, forcing her out of the car and taking off with her vehicle.
The vehicle was located the next day and two men have been arrested but police are still appealing for public information.
Senior constable Adele McSeveny told Fairfax Media one man has been charged in relation to the offences and the second person hasn't been charged as yet.
"We are keeping an open mind and investigations are continuing in order to identify anybody else that has been involved."
Mandurah Detectives want to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle between 6:50pm, Monday August 28 and 4:30am, Tuesday August 29.
Anyone who may have dash cam footage is also being urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
