Mandurah has once again been declared a finalist in this year’s 2017 Top Tourism Town Awards.
Placed in the category for towns/cities with a population over 5,000, Mandurah will compete against Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Albany for the top spot.
The awards are run by Visitor Centres WA and sponsored by long-term supporters GWN7 and Vanguard Press.
Mayor Marina Vergone said she was delighted that Mandurah has been recognised as one of the best cities in Western Australia for its enticing attractions and facilities.
“When thinking about what our state has to offer in terms of attractions, I don’t think many people would give the community they live in a second thought because they are so familiar with the beauty and uniqueness of it,” she said.
“However, Mandurah has such a great variety of attractions, natural assets, facilities and community spirit that really makes us stand out from our competitor towns and cities.”
“The City would be extremely delighted to receive the award again this year considering the amount of growth in our community, but being acknowledged as a finalist is a wonderful accomplishment in itself for Mandurah.”
Award winners will be announced at the 2017 WA Regional Tourism Conference Dinner in Albany on September 12.
