A Mandurah teacher who recently gave birth to a baby fathered by a former student has admitted to sexually abusing the boy from the age of 12.

Naomi Tekea Craig, 33, appeared via audio link in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday where she pleaded guilty to 15 child sex charges.

The offences, including sexual penetration of a child under 13 and possessing child exploitation material, took place between August 2024 and December 2025

Craig gave birth to a baby on January 8 this year with a DNA test confirming the boy is the alleged father.

It's understood the music teacher is married and has another young child.

Craig is on bail under strict conditions that she has no contact with the victim and no unsupervised contact with any children except her own.

She is due to appear in the Perth District Court on March 27.

Police Commissioner Col Blanch said if Craig is jailed, the infant may be able to join her in prison.

"I do understand there is a general rule, depending on the age of a child, they can spend a portion of their life up to a certain age with the mother," he told reporters.
