Authorities have ramped up their search for a missing Mandurah man and his family, who failed to return from a fishing trip to Rottnest Island on Wednesday night.
Water Police and rescue crews will today continue their search for four men, who failed to return home from a fishing trip on Wednesday evening.
It's understood a 50-year-old man from Coodanup, his 24-year-old son, 40-year-old brother and one other family member, believed to be a 31-year-old male, set off on a fishing trip in their 5.5 metre boat named 'Yeah Buoy" on Wednesday evening. The boat left from Cockburn Sound to go fishing at Rottnest Island.
At around 9pm yesterday evening, family members contacted Police with concern that the four men failed to return home.
Water Police, Volunteer Sea Rescue groups, Rottnest Rangers and local Police conducted overnight searches for the vessel without success.
No emergency calls have yet been received from any of the occupants on board.
Search and rescue operations continued this morning with three helicopters, nine marine vessels and Australian Maritime Safety Authority plane all involved.
Water Police would like to hear from anyone who may have been boating at Rottnest Island yesterday and observed a white 5.5 metre vessel with four persons on board.
