A 19-year-old Meadow Springs man accused of making death threats against the Prime Minister and the New South Wales Premier has appeared in court.

Will James King allegedly sent messages on social media threatening to kill Anthony Albanese and Chris Minns on January 14.

He was arrested later that night by State Security Investigations detectives and charged with threatening to kill.

King fronted the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday where a submission for his charge to be downgraded was refused by the prosecution.

His bail was extended and he is due back in court on March 3.
