Allambee Counselling and Pat Thomas House will receive a combined $2.36 million in funding over four years to increase the support they provide to the growing Peel community.
Domestic violence victims in Mandurah and surrounding areas will have access to more counselling and support option with the newly awarded funding boost.
For more than 25 years, Allambee has supported people in the Mandurah region who have been experiencing sexual abuse or assault, domestic violence and trauma.
Mandurah's Allambee has been granted an extra million dollars to bolster their services, while Peel's Pat Thomas will receive $1.36 million from the McGowan Government.
During this year and 2018, the McGowan Government will provide about $7 million for family and domestic violence counselling, advocacy and support services throughout the State.
This announcement comes during the 16 Days in WA campaign, which aims to stop violence against women.
Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence Minister Simone McGurk said the McGowan Government is working hard to respond to family and domestic violence in the community through a number of avenues including victim safety and perpetrator accountability.
Mandurah MLA David Templeman is welcoming the funding to prevent the incidence of violence against women and supporting those involved.
"With a projected population of 444,000 people by 2050, the need for increased support services was critical," he said.
The Women's Domestic Violence Helpline (9223 1188 or free call 1800 007 339) is a State-wide, 24-hour service. It provides support for women experiencing family and domestic violence.
1800RESPECT (free call 1800 737 732) is a national online sexual assault, domestic and family violence counselling service.
