One of Perth's most popular dam recreation areas, Serpentine Dam, now has a new nature-based playground and upgraded facilities.
The $2.5 million project, funded by Water Corporation, draws inspiration from the surrounding environment.
The upgrade also features new picnic tables, accessible toilet facilities and additional parking adjacent to popular local café, Bistro By the Dam.
It follows a similar upgrade at Churchman Brook Dam near Armadale in 2022, which included a new playground, grassed picnic area, toilets and barbecues, to enhance visitor experience.
"Serpentine Dam has long been a popular spot for a picnic, and now even more people will be able to enjoy the area thanks to a new playground and improved accessibility, making it safer and more inclusive for all," Water Minister Simone McGurk said.
"July to November is wildflower season, so we're coming into a great time of year to see the beautiful native wildflowers and try out the new facilities.
"Water Corporation does a fantastic job of opening its dams to the public, so we can all enjoy these beautiful areas."
