Police have been left shaking their heads after allegedly finding a three-year-old child in a car that was involved in a pursuit in the southern suburbs.
Police attempted to stop a Holden Statesman on Pebble Beach Boulevard in Meadow Springs around 5.20pm on Wednesday.
The car allegedly failed to stop for officers and drove off at speed, evading police for over 40 kilometres.
The car was eventually stopped by police on Del Park Road in Dwellingup around 6.30pm after it slowed due to mechanical issues.
A 35-year-old man from Greenfields was driving the vehicle and has been charged with failing to stop, no authority to drive, unlicensed motor vehicle, false plates and possessing drug paraphernalia.
He will appear before the Mandurah Magistrates Court on May 30.
Two female passengers were also in the vehicle, along with a three-year-old boy in the back seat.
