Owners of three homes in Golden Bay are now working with their insurance companies after a water main burst, flooding the properties.
Crews from the Water Corporation were called out around 3am on Tuesday after reports of a broken water main on Dampier Drive.
"Our crews isolated the broken section of water main within 15 minutes and stopped the flow of water, however regrettably three properties in the area had already received some flooding," Water Corporation Perth Regional Manager Garth Walter said.
"Pipe repairs were completed and water was turned back on by 11am. Bottled water was made available to anyone needing it while repairs were undertaken."
Golden Bay resident Quinnton Marsh said his backyard was completely flooded and the water came very close to entering his home.
"It would've been a couple of mill (millimetres) from my back door step and would've been about chest height in my backyard," he said.
"It flooded two houses up the road, knocked their fence down, destroyed the next door neighbours place and just poured down the street into my backyard."
Mr Marsh said one of the houses had internal flooding.
"They've had their whole floors ripped out because the water was ankle height in their house."
Temporary accommodation has been arranged for that household while repairs are carried out.
Mr Marsh said his back entertainment area will need replacing and he is worried about the structural damage to his house.
"All my decking is warped and I'm pretty sure my gazebo is unsafe," he said.
"I reckon by whole back entertainment area has to be completely knocked down.
"I want the structural side of it to be investigated."
Mr Walter said Water Corporation are working with the owners of the properties.
"We have arranged for an independent loss adjuster to help the owners of the three impacted properties work with their insurers to ensure their properties are restored as quickly as possible," he said.
"We apologise to the owners of the properties affected by the broken water main and thank them for their patience and cooperation while we work to resolve any damage to their properties."
