Sensitive Santa is on the way to Mandurah

Families with extra needs children can have a magical Christmas experience with ‘Sensitive Santa’ making the long trek from the North Pole to Mandurah Forum again this festive season.

Following overwhelmingly positive feedback from last year, Centre Manager Jacqueline McKenzie encourages local parents to book one on one visits with a qualified Santa who will fly in with his reindeer this Sunday, November 19.

“We look forward to local families creating special memories at our low stress and quiet Santa experience without the crowds, music, lights and camera flashes that can be overwhelming for the children with sensory needs.

“Offering families a private 15-minute visit with Sensitive Santa before opening, we hope all local children can experience the magic of meeting Santa, in an ideal and sensory-friendly environment, tailored to their individual needs,” Ms McKenzie said.

Mandurah mum Nicole Radcliffe said initiatives like the Sensitive Santa helps break down the barriers for children with extra needs, allowing them to participate in the same activities as other children.

“Last year was the first year we were able to get a photo of our son with Santa, so this initiative means a lot to us as a family."

Mandurah Forum’s Sensitive Santa is available every Sunday from 8am to 10am and will be in the centre for four consecutive Sundays from Sunday 19 November until Sunday 10 December.

All families will receive a complimentary photo from Mandurah Forum.

Bookings are essential.

Parents can book their child’s place by calling the Centre Management team on 08 9535 5522.
