Seven local venues named as finalists for hospitality awards

Seven local venues have been named as finalists in this year's Hospitality Awards for Excellence.

The finalists were recognised for making an outstanding contribution to Western Australia's hospitality industry.

The Drop Inn in Warnbro were nominated for five different categories, including:

- Community Service Award
- Aon Risk Solutions Responsible Service of Alcohol Award
- Casual Pub Dining Award – Metropolitan
- Family Dining Award
- The Lion Beer Australia Bar Presentation and Service Award

The Whistling Kite in Secret Harbour were named in three, including:

- Wine List Award
- Restaurant Award
- The Lion Beer Australia Bar Presentation and Service Award

Meanwhile The Sporting Globe in Mandurah and Rockingham were nominated for best Sporting Entertainment Venue, The Bridge Garden Bar is a finalist for best Regional Casual Pub Dining, The Chase Bar and Bistro for best TAB Hotel/PubTAB Venue Award and the Port Kennedy Tavern for best Metropolitan Casual Pub Dining.

Australian Hotels Association WA CEO Bradley Wood said this year's nominees reflected the quality of hospitality in WA.

"This year the calibre of finalists from WA’s leading accommodation hotels, pubs, bars and restaurants is simply outstanding,” Mr Woods said.

“WA’s hospitality industry continues to evolve, offering patrons incredible food and beverage offerings, the highest levels of service excellence and a variety of new and reimagined venues.”

“We have numerous world class venues across the state, driven by hospitality professionals who are constantly pushing the envelope and providing novel concepts and experiences to their customers.”

There are dozens of finalists from across both regional and metropolitan WA who will compete for 41 awards up for grabs.
